Company: Marsh Commercial Description: Business Leader - Bishop Skinner Marine We have a fantastic opportunity to join and lead our Bishop Skinner Marine business taking overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Marine Insurance Operation. This is the perfect role for an individual with strong leadership and operational qualities gained primarily within the marine or Private Client insurance broking sector in addition to previous experience of developing and implementing a digital customer journey. This position is located in our Witham offices however; the successful individual will have the opportunity to split their working week between the physical office, other Marsh offices across the UK and remote working. Our team in Witham are an experienced and friendly group of insurance experts operating in the Marine sector of insurance broking. To help ease the transition when you return to work you will be able to work 8 weeks at 80% of your normal work pattern and receive 100% of your normal salary We will count on you to: Lead, support and mentor a business of 20 insurance professionals ensuring the team is providing cooperative and responsive operational support on a day to day basis Demonstrate effective and motivational performance management techniques to develop the leadership team; setting professional standards / core competencies and to ensure staff are trained and supported to enable them to meet those standards Undertake regular and effective 121 meetings and team communication sessions to ensure an engaged and collaborative working environment Attend industry events in order to represent the business and to build professional networks What you need to have: Experience of working within the insurance industry, i.e Broking, Underwriting, Claims A strong leadership background and the ability to develop and nurture a high performing and engaged team The ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement, from both an individual and team focus Ideally hold or be working towards the Dip CII or other financial services qualification Broker system experience (ideally Acturis) What makes you stand out: In-depth Marine insurance knowledge across a broad range of products Experience of developing and delivering digital customer journeys and sales True leadership qualities with a hunger to support, mentor and develop an inspired leadership team Ambitious nature and a keen contributor within a team environment Articulate with strong stakeholder management abilities About Marsh Marsh is the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser.
