What you will do:
The Maintenance Manager oversees and leads maintenance procedures and actions. They lead the maintenance department's activities to ensure that fleet, including all equipment, and plants are always dependable and safe. They implement a preventative maintenance program and ensure compliance with corporate policies and government regulations. They work alongside other department managers to ensure production needs and delivery requirements are met on time.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate a positive safety culture in the district. Build individual accountability and rewards/ recognition into safety approach.
2. Creates a culture of preventative maintenance schedules by coordinating and auditing maintenance repairs and inspections.
3. Works closely with operations to specify equipment requirements that optimize field productivity and minimize the life cycle cost of equipment.
4. Responsible for hiring, training, and developing maintenance team members to ensure that a highly skilled workforce can meet expectations.
5. Assign work areas and tasks to ensure timely completion.
6. Coordinate with the purchasing department for spare parts and other repair equipment, to include regular recommendations on necessary in stock items.
7. Prepares and manages the budget for repairs, maintenance, and supplies.
8. Coordinate outside repairs and negotiate service agreements to ensure cost efficiencies.
9. Analyze maintenance costs and provide recommendations on utilization and replacement of equipment.
10. Investigate incidents and accidents, report them to the appropriate management and safety personnel and complete all required paperwork.
11. Maintains up to date knowledge of State and Federal regulations and requirements.
12. Readiness to remain available for emergency situations in an on-call status after working hours.

Leadership skills: Ability to motivate employees to achieve common goals, including functional support within the district. Strong commitment to safety & environment, quality, customer service and plant cleanliness.
Financial planning skills: Strong organizational and budgeting skills. Maintenance Managers are responsible for looking at the future of the business and making key maintenance and investment recommendations.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to resolve employee performance issues and conflicts. Must be able to manage an empowered workforce, lead by example and be an effective coach.
Communication skills: Need to have knowledge on any Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in order to retrieve any information on vehicles, inventory, or employees electronically.

Experience and abilities you will need:Required:
- BSc/BA in related field or 5 years related experience in maintenance operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8 years Management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with internal and external customers.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to utilize computer software in monitoring and tracking data.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Diesel Truck Mechanic Certification from National Institute for Automotive Services (ASE)
- Experience with off-road heavy equipment
