Job Title: Die Shop Helper

Department: Die Shop

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Summary: Die Shop Helper is responsible for troubleshooting every day die issue that originates during manufacturing process to support production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Fix die issues on flat bed and rotary press dies that originates during production run that involves replacing or repairing flat or rotary steel steel rule blades.

2. Perform maintenance on flat or rotary steel rules dies after production run

3. Perform die changeovers on rotary die cutting press

4. Generate bar code label for new dies and update system when new die is received and notify all team

5. Perform tool inventory periodically and relocate obsolete tools creating room for new tools

6. Adheres to GDC’s safety rules and regulations

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, you may be expected to work longer hours as needed to support manufacturing

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School Education preferred or GED.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical & Computer Skills:

Ability to do basic log entry on computer system

Update spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Not needed but relevant credential would benefit position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception in order to operate and drive forklift and to read daily pull for shipping.
