What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner Assistant position at GDC Technics, Ltd.?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Material Planner Assistant position is an entry level position that does not require experience in the aircraft industry. As an Intern, the employee will be taught basic skills follow up with a continuous syllabus in learning and developing skills and responsibilities necessary in a full time Material Planning position. Syllabus will include learning creation, maintenance, status and revisions of “work orders” utilized for manufacturing parts, assemblies and modification installations in accordance to our company’s policies and procedures. This is an inexperienced-level position with no direct reports that reports to the Planning Support Supervisor and progressive measurements by department manager over the course of a 6 month OJT program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
- Will be trained to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Will be trained in all areas of Planning includes interface with Engineering for new releases and revisions.
- Will be trained to create and maintain Items Masters, BOM’s and Routings as required and in accordance with released and approved engineering data.
- Will be trained to create, maintain, and update “work orders” as required for the work area. Will learn to interface with the area manager, Quality Department, and Engineering as required to ensure the proper documentation, resources, and routings are being utilized.
- Will learn skills in maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with company personnel and management.
- Will be coached to participate and ensure material planning is completed.
- Will be trained to assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Will be trained to understand and maintain BOM’s and inventory levels of Design Standards used on multiple Projects.
- Will be trained and will assist in set up and maintenance of ERP departments and resources
- Creation and maintenance of ERP standard operations for work order routings
- Will be trained to run various reports: (EX: Discrete Job Listing and Shortage Reports) for weekly, bi-weekly, daily status of WIP and for the most current supply and demand record.
- Will be trained to initiates Issues Log Entries regarding Engineering Change Requests.
- Assumes responsibility for other administrative duties as assigned by department Manager and Sr. Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: *
- High school graduate or equivalent.

- Proficient knowledge of all related computer applications including spreadsheets, reports, and inventory tracking systems.

- Proficient typing and 10-key skills.
- Must be able to read, write and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: *This job operates in indoor settings, including office and warehouse/airplane hangar environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and safety gear.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
