About the Opportunity:
We are looking for an intelligent, computer savvy, customer focused contributor to join our growing entertainment businesses based out of our Burbank / Los Angeles office. The main responsibilities for this position are digital cinema support/installation, hardware repair, remote phone support for hardware / software, onsite and offsite training and server demos, research for customized solutions for our customers, and communication with Research & Development to help improve our products. Some weekend support from home may be needed from time to time.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, reliable, have great written and verbal communication skills, 3-5 years’ experience in the cinema industry or a customer service role, a can-do attitude, and be willing to travel periodically.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the installation and maintenance of equipment at customer sites, including cinemas and motion picture studios.
- Provide user level & service level training to customers on equipment installation and operation.
- Attend to service calls from customers regarding the equipment and follow detailed procedures for troubleshooting.
- Generate Linux shell scripts to provide customized solutions to our customers.
- Follow detailed hardware and software testing procedures for quality assurance.
- Visit customer sites for training, periodic upgrades, and maintenance.
- Gather usability feedback from customers and report to engineering and development department for inclusion in future product revisions.
- Research efficient raw materials for current and future products.
- Attend training for new products as they are introduced into the digital cinema market.
- Setup equipment for display at major industry conventions.
- Anticipate 25% to 50% travel and a valid driver’s license is required.
Basic required skills:
- Technical knowledge and operation of digital cinema projectors
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to accurately communicate technical information.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Fast learner with a keen aptitude for technology
· Bilingual in Spanish a plus
· Portuguese language skills a plus
Education/Experience:
- 3 to 5 years in cinema experience with digital projectors (Barco, Christie and/or NEC)
- Experience with repairing computer hardware is required.
- Experience with Unix/Linux and basic shell scripting is a plus.
- Two or more years’ experience in a customer service-related occupation is a plus.
