Laboratory Support Technician

GDI Services Inc. has an opening for a Laboratory Support Technician position at the Pryor, OK Proteins Solutions plant. This well-established and growing facility is a key strategic asset to the GDI SERVICES INC. Protein Solutions business. As a Laboratory Support Technician, you will sample and prepare finished product for testing, perform lab test for raw and finished materials based on the specification and inspection plan developed for each individual product. Keep area cleaned and sanitized to prevent contamination.

2 people are needed to work this 7 day a week rotating schedule. One week you will work 4 days (48 hours) and the following week 3 days (36 hours).

Responsibilities

· Aseptically prepare samples of finished product for laboratory testing.

· Perform microbiological, chemical, physical, and/or organoleptic analysis of raw and finished products based on written procedures.

· Perform daily verification of the equipment and minor maintenance on test equipment as assigned.

· Assure all retained samples are identified and properly stored.

· Prepare reagents, media, and supplies for testing, as needed.

· Perform basic aseptic techniques.

· Utilize autoclave and sterilizers to prepare supplies/media for testing/sampling and decontaminate samples.

· Assist with special projects.

· Use the computerized inventory management system and Microsoft Excel for the input and retrieval of data for all products and materials tested.

· Maintain laboratory housekeeping and completion of master sanitation schedule.

· Utilize appropriate Safety and Food Safety Practices while performing job function.

· Other functions related to Quality Control and the advancement within the Quality organization.
Job Requirements
The following are required:

· Experience using aseptic sampling and testing technique

· Experience working in GMP regulated facility

· Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, hearing protection and protective eyewear

· Willing and able to lift/move 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead.

Experience:

• Research & Development Laboratory Technicians: 1 year (Preferred)
