ROLE: Reporter, Writer and Presenter: B2B Digital Events
LOCATION: New York, NY (Hybrid)
GDS is seeking high-energy, ambitious reporters who can research and deliver critical insight and conversation with our C-Suite audiences through our global portfolio digital events and media.
Successful candidates should be digitally savvy, have an inquisitive mind, and have the ability to research and write their own copy/scripts to confidently lead engaging conversations on market trends and challenges faced by senior executives around business transformation.
The role will include presenting live and virtual events from our state-of-the-art Un-Real Engine powered green screen studios in Bristol, UK and in the US. This position will require 50 % travel to our in-person events and work flexible hours based on allocation. When not traveling, this role will remotely host virtual events/roundtables from a home studio.
You will also be responsible for creating and delivering topical and engaging podcasts, vodcasts, short and long-form pieces. Experience in creating and delivering well researched copy is critical, presenting /hosting skills would be highly advantageous.

- Ability to generate and lead the conversation on current trends and challenges and confidently find quick angles to turn the conversation and meet urgent deadlines. Familiarity with trends and issues impacting business transformation- in particular, technology and people generating insight for senior leaders, markets, and companies.
- Ability to create, curate and deliver insight-led, on-stage content aligned to our clients’ business goals.
- At least 3 years’ experience working as a reporter at a national or trade business news organization.
- Can hold intellectual conversations with senior business leaders/C-Suite executives.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, along with your abilities to deep dive into a variety of industries and verticals shaping conversation, positioning messages & facilitating thought-leading discussion.
Event development
- Synopsis development, theme selection, speaker recommendation
- Ensure content is based on deep industry insight – research on industries, key trends and thought leaders
- Working with stakeholders to ensure program is aligned with business needs
- Client engagement and briefing
- Prepare session synopses and roundtable questions
Event preparation & delivery
- Preparation of speeches
- Being on top of the agenda
- Moderating discussions and roundtables (physical & digital)
- Engaging all clients
Content creation
- Write summit summary/post-summit report
- Work with video team to create video for promoting events and event content
- Working with stakeholders in the business to create bespoke content
Other activity
- Stay up to date with industry and vertical trends, and technologies to keep us at the cutting edge
- Working with marketing team to deliver scheduled and ad-hoc pieces of content
About you:
- Demonstrable experience of public speaking in a B2B environment
- Professional copywriting experience (blogs, social media, newsletters, journalism)
- Editorial background preferred
- Presenting, moderating and event organization exposure would be desirable
- PowerPoint and other major presentation software (Keynote, Prezi)
- Writing for social channels
- Exceptional communicator (written and verbal)
- Enthusiastic, charismatic, organized
- Ability to demonstrate composure under pressure
- Warm personality with high energy, high engagement, and a positive outlook
- We can travel most weeks and work long hours at an event. Must be flexible and able to hold a smile!
