Job Description Summary The GE Aerospace’s Military Contracts team is a critical team member, and a trusted and proactive business partner for the product lines within the business. Contracts is the face of GE Aerospace to our US and foreign Government acquisition and air-framer procurement customers. We are charged with cradle to grave contract management duties in all phases of a Program, from proposal strategy through the full development, production, and sustainment life cycle. The Contracts team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price, and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope management. As an enabler to the business, Contracts collaborates across multiple functions and is laser focused on achieving a business deal ensuring both GE and the customers’ expectations are met.
The Contracts Operations Team is the backbone of the Contracts and Government Property Team providing advice, business solutions, addressing and communicating regulatory changes, performing data entry tasks, drafting and updating policies and procedures, maintaining clause libraries, handling data requests from the USG, remaining abreast of regulatory changes, and providing training on selected contracting topics both within and outside the team.
This position is an early career opportunity, within the Contracts Operations Team, for someone interested in learning the function of contracting with the US and international governments, and domestic and international companies. You will receive on the job education and mentorship from contracts professionals while being exposed to a variety of contracts, along with learning government regulations, commercial terms, and the acquisition lifecycle.
As part of this role, you will receive training to aid in your development, have opportunities to lead and participate in impactful projects, and network with Contract Managers and others in the US and UK. Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Contracts staff on their assigned contracts
- Work as part of a team for special projects
- Perform data entry into different business systems in support of managing workflows throughout the contracting lifecycle
- Managing clause library
- Diligence and attention to details is required to ensure solicitations and contracts are correctly processed through the business systems
- Review processes and suggest improvement to ensure overall efficiency within the context of lean – improving processes
- Learning and using US Government and company business systems
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a business curriculum from an accredited university or college
- Exposure to and familiarity with contracts
