Job Description Summary
The Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) – Continuous Improvement Leader will drive and monitor quality activities to support continuous improvement across the assigned manufacturing business (FMO or FCO). This position will monitor trends and compliance to quality expectations and standards across multiple business management systems including condition reports, maintenance work orders, quality surveillance findings, customer surveillance findings, Observation and Coaching reports, inspection reports, and internal audit findings. The role will not only monitor for trends and other indicators but initiate the condition report and be the responsible manager to drive the actions to address the noted trends. The position will require a high level of collaboration across manufacturing, quality and engineering functions.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Embrace Global Nuclear Fuel’s nuclear safety culture, where work is performed with an overriding priority on integrity, safety, security, and quality.
- Work effectively and make positive contributions in a dynamic team environment. Partner with manufacturing operations ensuring consistent application of quality procedures and standards.
- Monitor and track all condition reports over time, looking for trends by areas, equipment, shifts, operational steps, etc.
- Write and manage trend condition reports, including performing causal analysis or root cause analysis as appropriate.
- Maintain the Quality Surveillance Controller surveillance program, adjusting inspection checklist and schedules as trending reviews and data dictate
- Perform supervisor responsibilities for hourly production control personnel (daily management, performance reviews, training, hiring, timecards etc.)
- Perform/Analyze manufacturing process stability and capability studies. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives in GNF, including quality process development and design of experiments (DOE).
- Review and trend Observation and Coaching program reports for compliance to the process, trends of findings and appropriate corrective action steps taken and documented as appropriate.
- Manage the OE/LL program including the preparation, tracking and dissemination of OE/LL beyond safety.
- Interface with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds, including internal and external stakeholders as well as customer representatives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering or Science plus three (3) years of leadership or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field
OR
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus five (5) years of leadership or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to support off-shifts. Regular shift assignment will be day shift.
- NCA certified within 3 months and RCA trained within 6 months of start date.
- Ability to use computers. Frequent use of computer equipment.
- Ability and willingness to maintain after hours cell phone availability.
- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to wear protective clothing and a respirator in accordance with site requirements when needed.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day.
- An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen

- 1 year working in Quality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Self-starter possessing strong initiative, and demonstrated teamwork skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
- Practical experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools, identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes.
- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification.
- Ability to use quality gages, including micrometer, caliper, and dial indicator
