Job Description Summary
As a member of the Atlanta Service Center, you will be an active contributor to the Steam Turbine & Generator Repairs. This role will require you to perform production operations requiring frequent handling of heavy parts and/or responsibility & skill to transfer, operate, or adjust production equipment along with assist all classes of workers in multiple departments within a manufacturing environment.Our Helper position is a full-time onsite position at our Chamblee, GA facility. New hires will work our 1st shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training. New hires will move to our 2nd shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training is complete. Overtime is available but not mandatory. Opportunities to switch shifts is based on business need and customer demand.
Job Description
Your Role:
- Repair basic turbine components including installation, adhesive bonding, drilling, tapping, torquing, lubricating, and wiring
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and wiring diagrams
- Utilize standard tooling to complete work tasks
- Utilize the proper chemicals; must be able to understand safety data and shelf-life information
- Follow EHS compliance for turbine repair
- Perform complete and accurate quality documentation
- Assist in implementation of documentation and process improvements
- Operate forklift and crane
- Maintain manual or computerized records
- May be also be required to do the following: Assemble, bend, form, braze, tape, stack Generator parts, assemblies and components on both New Build work and Services
- Assist in testing and minor inspections as needed
- Unload and prepare parts/product for shipment
Eligibility Requirements:
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
Basic Qualifications(requirements):
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months of mechanical and hands on experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes;
- 5-years’ experience in Steam Turbine Repairs
- 3-years’ experience in MasterCam and Verisurf
- Strong math skills to include trigonometry, algebra, etc.
- CNC, M and G code programming experience
- Large CNC lathe, Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM), or Large Vertical Boring Mill (VBM) experience
