The Benefits COE Operations function includes managing an integrated system of record for 300K employee and dependent records for accurate and compliant eligibility, coverage, and benefits administration. As a Lead Specialist Payroll & Benefits - Benefits, you will be responsible for multiple Benefit business requirements which includes developing an in-depth understanding of systems, processes, and plan policy/administrative rules. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to manage projects, solve problems, oversee processes from design, production and testing through implementation. You will work collaboratively across internal operations teams, functional teams, Digital Team and Leadership to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance and enhancements of complex Benefits Administration PeopleSoft system requirements and wing to wing processes.
- Operational execution of your area of expertise to include daily workflows and escalations, error reporting, process controls, metrics, general processing support and document maintenance.
- Lead test planning, execution, production readiness, error resolution and validation efforts around business initiatives/projects, process improvements, and productivity projects.
- Lead cross-functional projects between key operational processing areas. Tasks include but not limited to development of project plans, meeting facilitation, tracking and reporting progress, and ensuring adherence to deadlines and project methodologies.
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and quality to ensure compliance and data security and integrity.
- Resolve complex processing issues and escalations for internal and external customers.
- Drive process improvement projects through implementation with a focus on customer satisfaction and standardization.
- Embrace and contribute to lean transformation by engaging in lean venues, utilizing and creating lean tools and methodologies and driving continuous improvement
- Effectively coach others on project management, facilitation, process knowledge, communications, and best practices.
- Act as liaison between the functional and technical team to develop solutions to meet business requirements.
- Work collaboratively across internal teams and establish working strong relationships.
Required Qualifications
- For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in HR and/or Benefits.
- Preferred location is Schenectady, NY
Desired Characteristics
- Minimum 2 years Payroll and/or Benefits Administration experience.
- Significant depth of expertise in 2 or more Benefits Administration functional areas and breadth across wing-to-wing Benefits Administration holistically.
- Specific experience with PeopleSoft, Workday, HR, payroll, benefits, and/or pension is preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including development and execution of project plans, and demonstrated ability to drive results.
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing requirements and business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
- Experience with lean tools and methodologies.
- Proven ability to mentor/coach others to develop talent.
- Able to excel in a cross-functional, matrix structure.
- Effective interpersonal and influencing skills; proven ability to develop and maintain relationships to influence decision making and drive business outcomes.
- Strong analytical and clear-thinking skills; ability to identify trends and implement process improvements.
