GE is looking for a Structures Tower Engineer responsible of performing structural design and analysis of wind turbine tower components within the Tower and Foundation Subsystem team.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
- Design shell, structural components and bolted connections for wind turbine towers that meets program timings, cost, and reliability targets
- Prove design requirements via analytical and FEA methods (modelling & analysis)
- Elaborate Validation Plans that demonstrate design meets product requirements, including component function and reliability
- Develop certification documents
- Create and revise drawings, specifications and design practices applying GE and industry processes and standards Knowledge management, technology watch and intellectual property
- Work cross functionally with quality teams, manufacturing engineers, sourcing, suppliers, field support and others to improve product quality and first-time yield Support manufacturing, sourcing and field support with issue resolution and quick corrective actions for design related causes.
- Drive quick, complete technical root cause analysis of field failures and identify design related corrective actions to prevent recurrence Support supply chain activities for quality assurance and fulfillment across the globe
- Drive lessons learned, best practices and standardization into drawings, specifications, design practices and processes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Material Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Minimum of 3 years of structural design experience
Desired Characteristics:
- High degree of experience in design of mechanical systems
- High degree of experience in structural components and bolted connections
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems, like UG and Ansys Mech or Workbench (or equivalent)
- Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries
- Ability to work in a matrix team environment
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Wind turbine component or system knowledge.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal or leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge in main recognized design codes, guidelines and standards
- Solid analytical approach to problem solving.
- Experience working with suppliers, OEMs or customers in wind industry
