Job Description Summary
The Value Stream Planner position will run pull systems focused on design implementation and continuous improvement throughout the value streams while establishing a replenishment process using lean tools and principles to achieve the business targets.This position is a critical position that is expected to execute continuous improvement projects in matching unpredictable customer demand patterns and eliminating waste by level loading the type and quantity of production output within the production schedule. This position will also accelerate improvements with Lean across production operations including planning, buying, services operations, order management and warehouse systems.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily management of the Pull Systems and engage in deployment of the Heijunka Hoshin project as a core team member.
- Perform monthly SMR assessments with recommendations for the SIOP reviews.
- Develop roadmaps and continuous improvement actions to resolve barriers and implement improvements to meet system targets.
- Contact for status of pull parts and system to the broader teams and organizations. Manage cut-in process for parts on pull (e.g., phase in/phase out, eng changes, field failures).
- Participate in CAP for areas impacted by or working with the role.
- Establish operating rhythm for key stakeholder updates and feedback on system health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials planning and procurement.
Desired Characteristics
- Global experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge or understanding of Lean tools for continuous improvement, and materials management.
- Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to team members and senior management.
