We are hiring a Contract Product Owner to join our Consulting department at GeekHive. This position is responsible for understanding the client’s expectations and translating into program roadmaps and project stories. As a Product Owner, you’ll assist with motivating team members to reach their potential and tactical knowledge of Agile process and principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project.
- Assists with the creation of the product vision and roadmap which accomplishes the goals identified.
- Advocate on behalf of the customer for the development team.
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with client objectives.
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
- Review feature releases prior to release to the client.
- Work with a cross-functional team in planning a release.
- Ensures user stories are “ready” for development to start work.
- Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria.
- Gathers, manages, and prioritizes the product backlog.
- Ensures close collaboration with the development team to anticipate risks and assumptions.
- Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years professional experience as a Product Owner
- Ideally 5 years of experience as a Product Owner
- Technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise
- Knowledge of industry standard process methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, LEAN, ISO, CMM, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
This is a contract position. You will be required to provide a W9 and provide your own equipment. You will be working on projects for clients and prior to your start date, you will need to execute a contractor agreement (individual or entity) and/or an NDA.
