The successful applicant will have certification from the American Board of Preventive Medicine, Addiction Medicine; the American Board of Addiction Medicine or the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Addiction Psychiatry. The applicant must have a DEA X waiver and experience prescribing buprenorphine products, as well as experience treating a wide variety of substance use disorders, associated medical and psychiatric co-morbidities. The applicant will have comfort in performing physical and psychiatric examinations, including encounters over telemedicine. All associate members of the division are expected to contribute to the education of the addiction medicine fellows, as well as the psychiatry residents

A t least 3 years of experience in addiction medicine; or 3 years of experience in independent practice, regardless of the specialty, preferred.

The specific location of this role is negotiable, with a component that may be completed remotely utilizing telemedicine technology. The successful candidate will be expected to travel “onsite” to central and/ or northeast Pennsylvania, the specifics of which can be negotiated to meet candidate and Geisinger objectives.
