What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Abstractor position at GeneDx?
GeneDx is in search of Clinical Abstractors to assist our Clinical Genomics Genetic Counseling team. The Clinical Abstractor's role will include review and abstracting of clinical information provided by clients for phenotype-driven testing. Data include clinical exam findings, medical history, prior genetic tests results, and family history.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review medical records provided by ordering clinician including clinical exam findings, medical history, and family history
- Review previous genetic testing performed at GeneDx
- Organize information in a standard format in internal GeneDx system
Education and/or Experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing, BSN from accredited College of Nursing preferred but not required
- Training or background with clinical data abstraction preferred
- Excellent writing skills as well as highly organized, proficient time management and critical thinking skills
