The Strategic Global Sourcing (SGS) Analyst is responsible for the development of analytical models and execution of sourcing strategy per the direction of the Commodity Management team. The position is responsible for interacting with various suppliers and internal customers, reporting and modeling on a daily basis while executing projects, improving process, and improving execution across a growing, global organization. The SGS Analyst will support a number of key programs within the organization, with principal focus on sourcing, supplier management, cost management, and supplier development, maintaining an agile and aggressive supply base while procuring high quality goods at a fair and competitive price.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as SAP and BI Super User within functional area as assigned;
Support and develop users within SAP suite of products;
Collect Market Intelligence data; develop benchmarks and analysis for sourcing strategies within specified Category;
Develop comprehensive request for proposals, analysis and reporting of benchmarking information;
Record and analyze reported purchase price variances and total cost of ownership;
Record and audit reported savings and total cost of ownership;
Identify new suppliers to support life cycle product strategy for new, existing, or end of life products;
Manage suppliers to meet the overall goals and objectives of the business (Service and Aftermarket Operations);
Develop, process and maintain required documentation as advised by cross-functional teams; develop retention policy as required;
Support Category Manager and Aftermarket Operations with component life cycle management;
Aid in material management escalations;
Develop supplier directory and other compliance/analytical support as required;
Develop, negotiate, and update supplier agreements as required;
Prepare presentations for supplier management activities including supplier strategy and negotiation;
Optimize the supply chain of goods and services from our suppliers to our customers by focusing on market driven responsiveness;
Utilize Supplier Relationship software such as SAP ARIBA to support improved supplier execution.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Business, Statistics, Supply Chain Management or related field OR equivalent work experience;
3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, or related work environment;

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and understanding of assigned commodities;
Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) software such as SAP Hana, IBM Cognos, or other;
ERP knowledge and experience e.g. SAP, Oracle, JDE, Baan, Visual, SAP Ariba, etc.;
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma concepts & methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong data manipulation skills to include database application knowledge;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality tool box and problem solving methodologies;
Knowledge of purchasing techniques including strategic supplier concepts;
Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) software;
Knowledge of supply solutions that optimize business investment costs;
Knowledge of demand planning and manufacturing practices;
Knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, C#, Java;
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as MatLab, MiniTab, SPSS;
Solid quantitative and problem solving skills with the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data;
Excellent pattern recognition and ability to break down complex problems;
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel – up to 20% of the time.
