General Carbide Corporation has a full-time opening in the Furnace Room on second and third shift (shift differential for off-shifts, steady shifts).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Keeping furnaces in desirable operating condition (alignment, condition of sealing gaskets and surfaces, and cleanliness of inner parts of furnace);
- Loading and unloading of furnaces;
- Size check of graphite fixtures;
- Cleaning of wax collector pots;
- Performs routine maintenance and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly;
- Transport product to and from other buildings;
- Performs ancillary duties related to the furnace department;
- Obtains sizes from machining departments for graphite fixtures and pins;
- Observes safety and health regulations;

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and is required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
