Overview
he Production Planner & Control 2 is responsible for control of materials and work-in-progress, for providing accurate and timely production data and inventory counts and for generating production schedules.
Major Position Responsibilities
Responsible for setting a clear target by using the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system to create and communicate a production plan to meet the customer’s needs.
Release shop orders to the floor and monitor the flow of products thru the entire production cycle. Prepare and release any needed rework shop orders.
Analyze data to identify opportunities to make process improvements to optimize efficiency and create regular statistical reports, analysis and distribute to all stakeholders.
Plan, replenish and manage materials and new requisitions to support the production plan and ensure no line down impact.
Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing data accuracy and ensure timely disposition for re-scheduling.
Coordinate the transfer of inventory to GD-OTS locations to cover potential shortages.
Develop and maintain effective feedback mechanisms for timely problem resolution while monitoring all direct material activity to insure timely material availability.
Support and collaborate cross functionally as assigned and/or required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
Valid State Driver’s License. Lean Certification preferred.
3 or more years in a production control position as either production planning, master scheduling, production supervision, or inventory control.
MRP/ERP experience, IFS or SAP a plus.
Data mining, report development and analysis skills.
Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook.
