HOW A JUNIOR SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Incrementally build functionality for DevSecOps products
- Develop and deploy cloud-based applications securely, efficiently, and with high resiliency
- Participate in sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile-related events
- Update agile tracking systems JIRA and Confluence to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs; track and communicate overall progress against assigned user stories
- Work with a scrum team to refine a prioritized backlog through story decomposition and task definition, including providing point estimates based on complexity
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA , or CCNA, or obtain certification within 90 days of hiring
- Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation
- Assist with internal and external communication
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Skills:
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
- Understanding of DevSecOps and software application development processes
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g. Javascript, Python), data structures, and techniques
- Experience with web-based Knowledge Management (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint)
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in dynamic team-based environment
- Strong communication skills
Desired Skills and Certifications:
- 3 years of experience working within the DoD or IC Community
- Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically, JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, CloudFormation or Terraform
- Agile-related certification (e.g. SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Master)
Must Currently Possess Clearance Level:Top Secret/SCI
Must Be Able to Maintain Clearance Level:Top Secret/SCI Counterintelligence Polygraph
