Home Equity Closing Specialist
The Home Equity Closing Specialist works closely with the Home Equity Manager and is responsible for preparing approved loans for closing. This can include working with 3rd party vendors and loan applicants.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Process and audit for accuracy approved loan files and prepares file for closing.
Assists with loan servicing by answering phones, process payoffs and other support functions around mortgage lending.
Maintains a good working relationship with GECU personnel, 3rd party vendors and applicants.
Must demonstrate general knowledge of and comply with GECU policy and procedures, Mortgage regulations and all federal and state regulations related to this position.
Must be detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing work responsibilities in an organized manner.
Engage in continuing education as needed.
Requirements
High School/GED degree
Three years prior experience in mortgage lending as originator, processor or closing coordinator.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and analyze financial information and to accurately perform complex financial calculations.
Thorough and detailed understanding of credit union policies and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
