Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite several times per year at the GM Global Tech Center - Cadillac Tower.

The Assistant Manager, EV Charging Network Quality & Reliability will enhance the EV infrastructure customer experience by providing key strategic guidance, focused execution, and continuous improvement methodology regarding the QUALITY of all EV infrastructure network partners, aggregators, and associated data sources on the Ultium Charge 360 Network.

Our ideal candidate is a (program) manager with experience in improving quality across a critical value-chain through various quality system and continuous improvement methodologies, ideally in the EV charging ecosystem. A high degree of comfort and experience in tactical execution is needed. Critical thinking and a demonstrated ability to work with partners, vendors and technology collaborators within complex business scenarios is required. The ability to process a broad array of inputs into strategy, business and process improvement recommendations to business partners and executive management thoughtfully is required.

This role will rely on building internal and external partnerships that clearly deliver great CX-focused improvements. It will have high visibility with executive leadership and across all General Motors brands, so exceptional subject matter level communication and influence skills will be critical to success.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate appreciable improvement in charging network reliability and customer experience.
  • Facilitates and manages cross-functional project teams regarding the overall quality and reliability of the charging network to improve the customer's subjective experience
  • Build strong partnerships with external stakeholders throughout the charging ecosystems (e.g., CSOs, OEMs, MSPs, EVSEs, and other third parties) to drive data-driven and evidenced-based improvements in the customer experience
  • Works collaboratively with engineering, IT (designers/developers), quality, legal, and finance program management teams, and other internal groups crafting and executing necessary strategies to optimizing the charging experience
  • Validates data source accuracy and error proofing within the expanding Ultium Charge 360 network
  • In coordination with our CSO partners, helps design and execute quality control methodologies and associated reporting metrics that helps ensure the Ultium Charge 360 network offers the very best experience to all categories of users across all GM brands
  • Supports the development and communication of technical and design requirements that establish common approaches, and translate standards into implementable business solutions
  • Supports the expansion of EVSE and ecosystem testing capabilities at GM's EVI test lab
  • Supports SME peer group leadership - OEM Forum, SAE/CharIN, etc., Policy input, Whitepapers, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience with automotive OEM in a quality management-based role within an electric vehicle (EV) charging company, or organization focused on EV/customer experience (CX)
  • Strong understanding and demonstrable familiarity of automotive quality systems standards and methodology
  • Technical understanding of the EV Charging network landscape
  • Comfortable working in whitespace (new areas/concepts) and open-minded to new and changing approaches to ensure desired solution is achieved
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business concepts, including the ability to critically evaluate and create project plans
  • Ability to work with all levels within General Motors globally and across functional boundaries e.g., engineering, finance, purchasing, vehicle development, legal, including senior leaders
