Job Description

Hybrid Position: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

The Motors Holding (MH) Investment Analyst is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of strategic GM funded investments in individual Dealer Companies through the Motors Holding Investment Plan. Since 1929, Motors Holding has created retail dealership ownership opportunities for well qualified Dealer candidates in a "venture capital" type structured buyout arrangement. The MH Investment Plan ultimately provides an individual with an opportunity to own 100% of the Dealership operation, while also providing an opportunity to grow GM's retail talent pool, diversifying GM's dealership network, and to improve GM's overall network performance. MH Portfolio Investment Analyst will be part of a small and agile team that structures, coordinates, and executes the MH Investment Plan with a variety of capital structures and performance objectives.

The MH Portfolio Investment Analyst works closely with:
  • MH Regional Managers & Portfolio Accountants
  • GM Finance & Technical Accounting Staffs
  • Other GM Regional and/or Central Office Support Teams
  • MH approved retail automotive focused independent CPA firms

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists MH field and GM's financial staff in prepping & reviewing Investment Committee proposals
  • Recaps and projects financial funding receipts and disbursement activity of the MH investment portfolio
  • Coordinates disbursement of GM funds as approved the Motors Holding Investment Committee
  • Collaborates with field team on establishing MH Dealership Accounting & Internal controls standards
  • Review annual CPA certified audit reports & interim CPA accounting Reviews
  • Assists in month end financial close responsibilities
  • Coordinates activities with subsidiary organization (DLI) to monitor & monetize the financial & administrative affairs of MH dealerships that are sold

Baseline Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Dealership operations
  • Strong knowledge of Dealership financial statements and various dealer performance analyses
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong, demonstrated business acumen
  • Four-year college degree in Business, Marketing, or related areas

Preferred Qualifications
  • Dealership field contact experience, (Sales, CC&A and/or Network Manager)
  • Accounting or Finance Background - Balance Sheet, P & L, etc.
  • CPA and/or MBA, Automotive Experience a plus
  • Retail Dealership Background or Exposure
