Key Duties:
- Unload/load products and monitor/control product flows to/from storage tanks.
- Performs in accordance with and promotes the company's Health and Safety (HSSE), Security and Environmental programs. May present materials at safety meetings.
- Perform routine inspections of assets, in compliance with local, state and federal regulations as well as company policy; and document, report and address any issues identified as appropriate.
- Couple/uncouple hoses and open/close valves.
- Perform basic maintenance and up keep functions of company assets. Assist all support groups with troubleshooting or equipment and all maintenance aspects.
- Complete required documentation of product transfer, ensuring paperwork is accurate and verified. Provide product transfer updates to supervision.
- Follow all company and regulatory policies and procedures. Ensure all customers, vendors, contractors and visitors on facility premises adhere to company policies and procedures as well.
- Perform quality control and company measurement practices. Assist support groups with troubleshooting operational issues.
- Perform and coordinate routine grounds maintenance/housekeeping for the facility.
- Perform basic facility operations (i.e., boiler, separator, generator, MVCU, etc.), if applicable.
- Train lesser experienced personnel.
- Develop Job Plans; conduct LOTO, SWP and complete JSA (Job Safety Analysis). Obtain approval from supervisor before commencement.
- Report any issues related to the terminal computer automation system, terminal over fill protection system and tank capacities, facility procedures, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and any hazards associated with the products stored at the facility.
- Lead a team of operators - communicate goals, safe work practices, and daily operational functions. Assign work schedules, assess performance and communicate daily with management.
- Manage consumable resources/inventories.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant operator experience.
- If applicable, requires 48 hours documented vessel training qualified as USCG (PIC) Person In Charge.
- Must meet company's required training protocol.
- Self-starter, responsible and ability to work with moderate supervision.
- Must be able to work in various natural environmental conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must possess required certifications, including TWIC card.
- Basic math skills (including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
- Good oral communication skills
- Familiarity of all local, state and federal regulations as applicable
- Must be OQ qualified for tasks assigned.
- Basic-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and all relevant business applications
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shift and/or work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as dictated by operations.
- May be asked to travel outside of assigned area to other locations to assist, no more than 15%.
- Fully qualified to perform job requirements of position without oversight.
- Good understanding of area of responsibility and understands relationship with other areas of pipeline/operations.
- Works within standard operating procedures with minimal degree of supervision.
- Has developed a proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
