What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at GenesisCare, USA?
Role Summary:
- In all of our centers, the first point of verbal contact for our patients is the Scheduler. As first impressions are lasting, it is imperative that our personnel portray patience, understanding, professionalism, compassion and accuracy.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and co-ordinate surgery procedures between patient, physician and hospitals
- Extensive contact with Physicians, Patients, Hospitals and Insurance companies
- Communicating to patients’ any and all pre-operative workup and testing
- Obtain all authorizations for surgeries and procedures
- Maintain contact between both offices for the purpose of coordinating surgery assists if necessary
- Maintain Surgery Schedule in Book and in Computer so Physicians can access their surgery schedules
- Assist in any and all front office duties, i.e. filing charts, answering phones, etc. as time permits
- Maintain an active hospital patient treatment list that must be updated daily
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Superior Telephone, computer, and typing skills
- Medical system experience & MS Office experience preferred
- One plus year(s) experience in a medical office setting required
- Ability to sit, stand, and communicate to patients and staff
Minimum Physical Capabilities:
In order to be able to perform normal duties as a Scheduler, the worker must be able to perform all of the following physical capabilities:
- Lifting up to 11 lbs occasionally floor to waist height, <7 waist to shoulder occasionally
- Frequent forward reaching, fine motor control (hand and arm)
- Sitting for up to 30mins at a time
- Occasional standing and walking
- Occasional bending and squatting
- Rare pushing and pulling to assist with a patient transfer (not all centers or Front Desk’s- confirm if required)
