Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist will perform all AP/AR duties for their location on monthly basis through month end closing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with coworkers, management, and external contacts
  • Contact vendors to request invoice copies and verify balances when necessary
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accounts
  • Code and post payable invoices
  • Responsible for maintaining recordkeeping and file maintenance
  • Research and resolve discrepancies on vendor statements
  • Produce weekly and monthly check runs
  • Post and reconcile manufacturer payables
  • Act as point of contact for AR customer inquiries
  • Act as primary contact with past due AR customers to request payment-minimum of once per month
  • Maintain schedules AP, AR, and Sublet Schedules
  • Daily deposit verification
  • Receipting of AR checks
  • Aftermarket submissions
  • Prepare and post monthly expense accrual
  • Process a high volume of inter-company payable allocations
  • Assist with payables for parent company
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Maintain files for year-end fixed assets accumulations
  • Responsible for maintaining record keeping and file maintenance

Nature of Customer Contact:

  • The AP/AR Specialist will be in contact with our external customers, vendors, and internal customers


Minimum Experience, Skills & Knowledge: 

  • Three years Accounts Payable experience 
  • Experience handling accounting for a multi-divisional business, preferred
  • Automobile industry experience preferred but not required 
  • Accounts Receivable experience, preferred 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel 

Minimum Education: 

  • Minimum of High School degree or equivalent. Some college preferred.
