Job Description:
As a Front Desk Assistant at Chat Genie Café, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm welcome and assisting with various inquiries and tasks. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Greeting guests warmly as they enter the café and assisting them with seating and menu selections.
- Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Taking reservations and managing the café's reservation system.
- Providing information to guests about menu items, specials, and café policies.
- Assisting with coordinating seating arrangements and optimizing table turnover.
- Handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including operating a cash register and processing payments.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and organizing paperwork.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the front desk area, including keeping the reception desk tidy and well-stocked.
- Collaborating with café staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office software.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move around the café comfortably.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of coffee and café menu items preferred but not required.
- Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy periods.
- Experience with reservation systems or booking software is a plus.
