Description : PURPOSE :
PURPOSE :
The documentation coordinator is the controller of engineering documentation and other configuration-controlled information.
As such, they will monitor and regulate the quality of the engineering change process, execute / implement document control procedures, and manage the integrity of the document repository.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that engineering change orders (ECO), new documents and document change orders (DCO) conform to standard operating procedures prior to routing for approval.
Work within Qualtrax Document Control System to load documents and drawings into the repository upon initial approval or ECO / DCO completion.
Organize and maintain long term document retention records.
Work with purchasing to obtain required standards and maintain those standards to current revisions
Train and maintain proficiency of dedicated back up resource to support system when required by workload or absence.
Support internal and external ISO compliance audits.
Requirements :
EDUCATION AND / OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s) :
Associate degree preferred in Technology or Manufacturing Systems related fields.
EXPERIENCE :
3 years of experience in engineering documentation and / or manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge of Document Control Systems required with experience in Qualtrax or similar preferred.
Function in an ISO9001 or AS9100 quality management system required.
Good communication abilities, both written and verbal, required.
Good organizational skills required.
Detail oriented and results driven.
Ability to use standard MS Office suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus.
POSITION SUPERVISES :
The individual serves as an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS :
Position requires regular contact with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT.
Contact with other Gentex sites is occasionally required.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL / COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms;
climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and. The employee may lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by the job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, written, and numerical intelligence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Works majority of the day in a climate controlled environment which could be subject to changes in temperature and / or noise.
TRAVEL :
Generally, travel is not required

Gentex's Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
