Financial Analyst, VAVE
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Financial Analyst, VAVE role is an exciting opportunity to support and influence, in a strategic way, the profitability of the company across all product lines. You will partner with various functions including engineering, program management, operations, and supply chain management to analyze and assess various potential cost opportunities which will impact the company’s future growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner and participate in collaborative teams with cross functional business partners on VAVE opportunities.
- Prepare business cases and presenting findings to the business for evaluation and improvement of financial performance.
- Identify and recommend creative alternatives and opportunities for cost optimizations.
- Analyze and suggest areas of VAVE focus based on market and material trends.
- Establish business cases for various VAVE ideas brought forward for feasibility reviews.
- Identify outliers in terms of costs, gross margin, and TCO for Gentherm’s product lines and programs.
- Validate costs saved/avoided from VAVE activities.
- Conduct cost analysis with Gentherm suppliers to identify improvement opportunities for mutual cost savings.
- Prepare and present financial figures on opportunities to business units
- Responsible for maintaining and updating VAVE savings database.
- Analyze monthly savings compared to budget for business units
- Participate and prepare budget/forecasting processes for the relevant income statement lines.
- Support for any specific ad-hoc VAVE improvement projects

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related field
- 3 years’ of position related experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills; can independently organize and lead meetings and effectively convey ideas to others either in an individual or group setting.
- A good business acumen and understanding of business operations
- Experience working with, and presenting to, senior management
- Time management skills and ability to work on tight deadlines
- Process improvement mindset
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proficient in English (listening, speaking, writing)
- A solid working knowledge of ERP systems (ideally SAP).
- Team player who can establish positive and productive working relationships with others
- Must demonstrate high ethical and professional standards including maintaining confidentiality of privileged company information, and valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with a large, multi-national organization
- Master’s degree in Engineering and/or a general interest in engineering topics.
