What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trade Accountant position at Genuent?
Genuent is seeking a Commodities Trading Accountant for one of its energy trading clients in Houston, TX. This is a full-time/direct hire position and candidates may work remotely 3 days per week.
Main Responsibilities:
- Account for commodity trading transactions (purchases, sales, costs, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy and consistency between accounting and trading systems
- Validate AR/AP balances for assigned desks
- Preparation of AR overdue report and AP aging report
- Perform a month and year-to-date Tradebook to Financial Statement PNL tie-out
- Communicate and review monthly accounting results with Front Office and Middle office
- Liaise with Front Office, Middle Office, and Operations to ensure accurate and consistent reported figures
- Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations; review cash movements and working capital for assigned desks
- Quarterly / Year-end
- Participate in Quarter and Year-end reporting
- Compile pertinent data for Management Reporting and Financial Statements
- Participate in the Year-end audit
Profile / Key Skills:
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in business, Accounting, Finance, or other related focus
- Experience in an energy commodity trading business
- Ability to effectively build relationships with internal capabilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influential skills
