What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Product position at GeoComply?

Are you a senior, experienced product leader with the skills and passion for heading that function at one of the most successful and Product-oriented cyber-security companies in the world? 

Are you equally comfortable designing best-in-class products for Client-side and Server-side as well as for advanced Machine Learning functions? Can you set the product vision and inspire the enthusiasm for that vision from a team of over 300 engineers, data scientists, and customer-facing team members? 


As the VP, Product, you are at the helm to ensure we meet our ambitious mission to empower the future of digital trust through our technical innovation and solutions. 


The VP, Product will oversee a strong customer-centric product management team and lead a team of experts in utilizing our data insights, market analysis, cutting edge user experience, and innovative thinking to expedite our product roadmap and execution. Working to steer the direction and output of a 300 strong Engineering and Data Science Team, the vision of the VP, Product will be responsible for setting short and long-term strategies, leading execution and productizing while also working cross-functionally with Government Relations, Research, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance. 

In this role, you are empowered to manage product development across all sectors, ensuring that our offering for our core iGaming market remains market-leading and drives innovation and market-share in the non-iGaming markets. Your impact as VP Product will help GeoComply redefine how the world views risk mitigation and cybersecurity through your creativity, insights and development of a roadmap that ensures GeoComply delivers continuous innovative solutions to our existing clients and take us into new sectors. 


This person will ideally be located in one of GeoComply’s primary North American hubs (Vancouver, Las Vegas, Montreal, and New York City); but we will consider excellent remote candidates


What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, technologies, processes, and teams and leverage that knowledge to deliver a tailored customer experience for each account.
  • Research and understand the changing competitive and technical landscapes so that external drivers on the Product Strategy are inherently built into our planning and build processes and roadmaps.
  • Understand and anticipate each customer’s current and future needs, connect the dots between those needs and our product offering, and where innovation is needed.
  • Lead and build a team of expert GeoComply product managers to ensure that Product Management as a function continues to play its pivotal role in the company’s success and orientation.
  • Own the holistic roadmapping process across the various stakeholders so that all inputs necessary for decisioning and design are fully incorporated e.g., Engineering, Account Management, UX/UI, Field Testing, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Finance, etc.)
  • Represent GeoComply externally (e.g., meeting with developers, interfacing with startups/VC communities, public speaking at conferences, etc.)
  • Formulate a clear, coherent product strategy and drive it forward, getting buy-in from Leadership and stakeholders across all internal teams and partner organizations. Leading the product journey from ideation to launch.
  • Design and launch various experiments with field testing, analytical excellence around usage metrics and business impact, and iterating through that analysis or UX research partnership on concept studies.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and UX reviews and benchmarks to ensure product excellence is maintained and improved throughout development and release and beyond to ensure a total feedback loop is in place to support on-going product improvements.


About You 

  • 10 years’ experience in Product Management for multi-channel, multi-product SaaS companies where internal/external bridge-building and partnering is an essential quality. Exceptional leadership and management skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams from the ground up; focused on accountability and results-oriented team building
  • Experience liaising with internal and external technical teams, with the ability to communicate and recommend solutions to fit the customer’s technical requirements. Strong customer experience orientation, providing exceptional customer-centric focus product and in all interactions, including in-person and virtually. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to fit the needs of the audience. Strong presentation skills at all levels of leadership. Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the year
  • Public speaking experience.


Bonus Points if You 

  • Have experience with JIRA, Zendesk, Kibana, Salesforce and Atlassian; 
  • Have a network and knowledge of US gaming and sports betting compliance, regulations, and requirements. 
  • Entrepreneurial or startup experience.
