What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at GEODIS?
Job Duties: -
· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space
· Empties trash and garbage containers
· Identifies needed repairs such as roof leaks and damaged dock shelters
· Replaces air conditioner filters
· Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment
· Maintains pest control devices and sprays pesticides, rodenticides and herbicides
· Cleans offices, rest rooms and break room
· Mows lawn and trims shrubbery
· Operates tow motor to move hopper if needed
· Checks pump houses
· Paints fire lanes
· Inspects fire extinguishers
· Maintains walkways and sidewalks
· Other duties as required or assigned
· For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) preferred
· Minimum 3 months of related experience
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. This position will be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch as it relates to completing the above job duties. The employee may be required to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather co
