Job Duties: -
- Reduces the number of job related accidents and injuries
- Provides support to other personnel in safety related areas
- Ensures Company employees are trained in proper safety protocol according to regulations and company policies
- Presents training, education and awareness programs to management
- Enforces the Safety Sanitation Policy Manual
- Ensures compliance of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Conducts annual safety audit
- Coordinates the Return to Work program
- Monitors monthly safety meetings
- Duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university
- Minimum 4 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of the following: CFR 29 Labor (OSHA) and CFR 49 Transportation (DOT)
- Knowledge in the storage, handling and shipping of hazardous materials
- Knowledge of NFPA regulations with regards to flammable liquids, corrosives, etc.
- PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
