What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Project Estimator position at Geopaq Logic?
Qualifications:
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Develop a complete and accurate bid proposal including; quantity take-off, existing to proposed surface; crew composition; material, and subcontractor pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings with the owner, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers.
- Experience in using Agtek Civil Software
- Procure materials and major equipment.
- Negotiate, secure and manage subcontracts.
- Compare bid pricing to historical data.
- Read, outline and communicate specifications and plans for superintendents and foremen.
- Manage site superintendents and vendors and subcontractors, ensuring projects are within budget and on time
- Manage numerous projects while simultaneously completing estimating duties.
- Develop and maintain project schedule. Prepare and maintain the project progress and budget.
- Change order pricing and negotiations
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 5 to 10 years experience in site work and utility construction project management. A Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is desirable.
- A record of successfully estimating and managing civil site and utility construction projects
- Have a working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition, and production rates for all aspects of civil site and utility construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Standard scheduling software with the ability to adapt to a variety of computer applications.
- Cost accounting experience preferred.
- The ability to work with a team and independently to complete projects within stated deadlines.
- Communicate effectively
- Follow and reinforce company safety policies
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be ambitious and self-motivated, with a can-do attitude.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must have a valid driver's license
