Utility Project Estimator

Qualifications:

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Develop a complete and accurate bid proposal including; quantity take-off, existing to proposed surface; crew composition; material, and subcontractor pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings with the owner, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers.
• Experience in using Agtek Civil Software
• Procure materials and major equipment.
• Negotiate, secure and manage subcontracts.
• Compare bid pricing to historical data.
• Read, outline and communicate specifications and plans for superintendents and foremen.
• Manage site superintendents and vendors and subcontractors, ensuring projects are within budget and on time
• Manage numerous projects while simultaneously completing estimating duties.
• Develop and maintain project schedule. Prepare and maintain the project progress and budget.
• Change order pricing and negotiations

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• 5 to 10 years experience in site work and utility construction project management. A Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is desirable.
• A record of successfully estimating and managing civil site and utility construction projects
• Have a working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition, and production rates for all aspects of civil site and utility construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Standard scheduling software with the ability to adapt to a variety of computer applications.
• Cost accounting experience preferred.
• The ability to work with a team and independently to complete projects within stated deadlines.
• Communicate effectively
• Follow and reinforce company safety policies
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be ambitious and self-motivated, with a can-do attitude.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Must have a valid driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
