What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at George’s Local?
We are looking for a few prep cooks to join our crew!
Come help prepare food to the Chefs' specifications and prep items daily for service. Prep cook duties will consist of working both independently and with the team while remaining focused and efficient with their daily tasks. You will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and retention goals through the consistency and cleanliness of the preparation of the food.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Prep menu items both independently and with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive, sous chef, or lead line's instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Willingness to learn and develop new culinary skills

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
