George Walton Academy (GWA) seeks a creative and engaging Middle School Science teacher who demonstrates a love of middle school students, a passion for teaching and learning, a growth mindset, and a commitment to excellence in line with the mission and vision of the school. GWA is an independent, Pre-K-12, independent, college-preparatory school located on 61 beautiful acres in Monroe, Georgia, less than one hour from the state capitol of Atlanta.

Responsibilities
- Teach a full load of courses at the middle school level
- Design and implement engaging, student-centered, and age-appropriate learning experiences with attention to individual student needs and differentiation
- Collaborate with colleagues within and across disciplines and grade levels to promote interdisciplinary and cross-curricular teaching and learning
- Use varied instructional strategies based on the needs and interests of the students
- Establish and maintain open and effective lines of communication with all students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Create and sustain a positive classroom culture based on the mission and values of the school
- Monitor student growth and progress and maintain accurate and timely records
- Participate in professional learning opportunities within and beyond GWA
- Serve as an advisor to a small cohort of middle school students
- Actively and enthusiastically support the life of the school outside of the classroom
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience working with middle school students
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
