What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lidar Analyst position at GeoSearch?
We are seeking a Lidar Analyst who will ensure the execution of processing tasks and follow the appropriate workflows. The analyst directly supports senior and lead analysts in developing and testing efficiency improvements while also supporting the production of lidar data from multiple sensor platforms.
Responsibilities:
Production Focus:
• Maintains awareness of the status of projects within the team
• Specializes in the calibration, classification, or production of final deliverables for lidar projects
• Demonstrates leadership in small groups
• Assists in training technicians and interns of workflow and methods
Technical Focus:
• Demonstrate good judgement in the selection of the methods and techniques in problem resolution and troubleshooting
• Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to take complex information and convey it easily
• Perform rigorous QA/QC and data finalization practices
• Excellent technical ability with GIS, CAD and lidar processing software
• Ability to understand and apply tools written in programming languages relevant to the industry
• Produce data reports and final deliverables
• Ability to automate workflows and tasks
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrates understanding of geodesy and remote sensing principles
• Show aptitude for utilizing multiple geospatial software programs
• Consistently produce precise and accurate work
• Maintain excellent data management and file organization practices
• Perform statistical analysis of data accuracy and specification
Minimum Qualifications:
• 1 year of Senior Technician or equivalent experience
• 1 years of experience in a professional work environment
• Bachelor's degree in natural resources, environmental science, or engineering; or equivalent experience directly related geospatial data processing
• Advanced knowledge of GIS software
