GeoSonics, Inc., a nationally recognized vibration consulting company to construction and mining industries is seeking a full-time Field Technician to join our team at our Cheshire, Connecticut location.
As a Field Technician, you will frequently drive to construction sites and aggregate operations throughout New England and New York, including occasional travel to other areas of the country. You will install remote seismograph and sound level monitoring systems and perform pre-blast/pre-construction condition surveys at homes, commercial buildings and other structures. Additional duties include on-site vibration/sound monitoring, maintenance of service equipment, provide support to the area manager as well as provide service and support to customers.
Our ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and work independently. Has experience using video and digital cameras and is highly proficient in computer skills, including the use of software, such as Microsoft 365, Adobe and Google Workspace. Degree in Geology, Earth Science, Engineering or related field is preferred. Driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation is required as you will travel in your personal vehicle to job sites.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Travel up to 75%, including overnight stays due to multi-state service area. Depending on the requirements of the project, these stays may be days to weeks
- Conduct detailed pre-blast/post blast construction inspections of homes, commercial buildings/other structures using digital cameras.
- Perform on-site vibration & sound monitoring at aggregate and construction operations
- Manage remote seismograph installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and testing
- Report preparation
- Perform general office duties, including technical report writing and proofreading, use of office machines, and computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Provide service and customer support during field visits
- Provide public relations with homeowners and other stakeholders
- Follow company procedures and protocol
- Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
- Build positive relationships with current and potential customers
