ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
- Learning and developing technical skillsets to support civil and environmental engineering related projects for renewable energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, waste, oil and gas, and land development sectors.
- Performing calculations, collecting and interpreting data, and reviewing regulatory criteria to inform engineering and environmental designs.
- Working with CAD designers to prepare permitting and construction level drawings and technical specifications for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Preparing and managing technical reports related to stormwater permitting, spill prevention, environmental investigations, facility siting, waste containment, and other exciting technical disciplines.
- Performing field investigations and collecting environmental samples of soil, groundwater, soil-vapor, and other environmental media.
- Conducting environmental site assessments, facility inspections, and construction oversight as directed.
- Reviewing and researching regulatory topics, along with determining regulatory applicability to processes and problems.
- Supporting client opportunities and proposal preparation, and gain increasing responsibility with project tasks through training provided by Geosyntec and by working with senior staff and management.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:
- Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
- Fieldwork: Up to 30%
- Overnight travel: Up to 25%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in civil and/or environmental engineering. (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or the ability to obtain certification.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Coursework and/or professional work experience directly related to civil and environmental engineering disciplines. (required)
- At least one year of hands-on experience in a professional setting, including performing calculations, interpreting data, and preparing technical reports. (preferred)
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS capabilities. (required)
- Understanding of state and federal environmental regulatory framework. (preferred)
- Strong technical writing and communication skills. (required)
- Familiarity with environmental compliance, site investigation and remediation, and environmental permitting regulations in Texas. (preferred)
- Prior experience through internships, co-ops, consulting, and/or other professional environments. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
