What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staffing & Recruiting Specialist - Temporary position at Geotek?
The Staffing & Recruiting Specialist is primarily responsible for the planning, organizing and fulfillment of operational labor needs. Key duties of the position will focus on internal & external recruiting needs & processes.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, and on boarding for hourly manufacturing positions
- Interviews candidates through phone screens, in person interviews and tours
- Selects and makes hiring decisions
- Updates Excel crew rosters for team visibility
- Coordinates staffing efforts and contract rollovers with temporary agencies
- Develops and posts ads in KPay and on career websites (really, LinkedIn, MNWorks)
- Acquires & retains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by regulatory agencies
- Performs references, testing, and background checks on qualified candidates
- Promotes company benefits and programs through offer process
- Assists with other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years interviewing or customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education in HR is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to connect with a variety of disciplines and display clear, accurate, and professional verbal / written communications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills, specifically in Word, Outlook, Excel, and HRIS systems
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Advertising and recruiting experience in manufacturing or staffing industry
- Previous experience with Kronos-based software
Regular work schedule is M-F days, but ability to adjust hours in order to meet candidate or shift employee needs is occasionally required. This is currently a 3-month position.
