What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Environmental Scientist position at GeoThink?
We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist for our Geneva office. We are looking for our candidates to have 2-4 years’ experience in field work- groundwater and soil sampling, wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) data collection and evaluation, data table generation and report writing.
Responsibilities:
- Documenting Field Studies
- Collecting and Managing Environmental Samples
- Interpreting and Manipulation of Field and Laboratory Data
- Coordinating Subcontractors
- Calibrating, Operating and Maintaining Field Equipment
- Vegetation Surveys / Wetland Delineation
- Preparing Reports, Maps, and Annotated Findings using Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and GIS
- Working in Various Terrains and Environments throughout the year
Qualifications:
- 2-4 Years of Environmental Consulting / Contracting Experience
- BS in Geology, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science
- OSHA 40 HAZWOPR Training
- OSHA 8-hour Supervisor Training
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, AutoCAD, GIS
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Self-Starter and Team-Player
- Ability to Coordinate Work on Multiple Projects and Meet Project Schedules and Deliverables
- Responsiveness to Client and Project Requests
- Extensive Phase I & II ESA Experience, Strong Working Knowledge of ASTM Guidelines
