UAV Field Technician (Part-time)
GeoVisual Analytics is changing the way fresh produce is grown. Monitoring fields with drones, mobile devices, and in-field sensors, we’re applying our NASA-funded AI research to analyze crop maturity and health and predict yields, helping farmers be more sustainable and increase their profits.
GVA is looking for a motivated professional to help us manage all areas of in-field data collection.
This crop information is critical for the success of our yield predictions, so your attention to detail and an ability to follow a methodical, systematic approach are paramount. To be successful, you’ll combine your detail-oriented attitude with the joy of working outside and a passion for helping agriculture become more technically advanced and environmentally sustainable.
How you’ll spend your work days:
● Developing flight plans, publishing NOTAMS, and coordinating airspace/weather integration
● Completing and obtaining job permits, and other operational requirements
● Logging and maintaining all flight, hardware, and battery usage data
● Performing UAS equipment maintenance and troubleshooting along with QA/QC data processing during collection and post-processing
● Performing all tasks in a safe and repeatable manner
● Conducting yourself with our clients in a professional and courteous manner
Required Qualifications
● Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
● High familiarity with computers, digital files and data management, as well as data visualization
● A high level of interpersonal and communication skills; Working with the team is more important than knowing how the technology works!
● Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google suites
● Desire to learn and master a one-of-a-kind process to help advance the field of Agriculture
● Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
● Familiarity with circuitry, photogrammetry, and UAVs
● Bilingual in English and Spanish
