NATURE AND SCOPE:
The VMI Analyst will manage inventory levels and replenishment schedules by coordinating various departments within the Operations Planning, Sales and Logistics to execute on the defined strategies. This position will coordinate automated replenishment for enrolled customers by maintaining system data, interface set up and maintenance requirements. The incumbent is responsible for auditing data for inconsistencies in the completed sales and automated replenishment schedule with controlled inventory levels. This position reports to the Sales Process Manager.
This position requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in vendor managed inventory, supply chain management and/or distribution planning. SAP APO experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated experience in highly analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience. This role will require the ability to handle multiple tasks, and proficiency with integrated business systems, Microsoft office, and general office equipment.
The incumbent must be able to converse in a professional manner with diverse groups, both internal and external, in a professional and articulate manner. This may include, but is not limited to contacting customers for purchase order numbers or sending order confirmations, as well as receiving and resolving service inquiries and complaints from internal and external customers.This role must be able to communicate effectively to maintain customer satisfaction while facilitating the resolution of critical issues, complaints, returns, credits or questions regarding unexpected changes in item activity, product shortages and/or shipping schedule conflicts. This role must work with appropriate sales team and fulfillment management team to address projected stock shortages and recommend timely solutions.
The incumbent must maintain general knowledge of and adhere to GLN North American operations, products, policies and procedures. The position requires maintenance of data and interface requirements, include product or customer additions or removal, inventory source changes, new customer on boarding and forecast validation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain data tables within SAP to facilitate VMI data conversion, set up and execution.
- Process customer VMI data files from ECC through APO system to sales order creation and validate sales orders created by APO in ECC system.
- Review and analyze output and data for errors, inconsistencies or projected stock shortages.
- Provide reports, analysis and metrics as requested on program performance to management.
- Enter order plans; ensure accuracy according to defined order parameters.
- Follow the process to assess customer needs and requests, utilizing the proper departments to respond.
- Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor both externally and internally.
- Provide overall sales support, assist with new item forms, samples, specifications.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
