### Opportunity Summary
We are looking for an experienced Nuclear Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our engagements in the nuclear and environmental management sectors, particularly with the Department of Energy (DOE). This position entails providing expert guidance on nuclear energy technologies, with a specific focus on the AC-100M centrifuge.
### Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent technical reviews on centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Provide expertise in Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
- Collaborate with DOE to assess and review reports and presentations related to centrifuge development and licensing.
- Evaluate enrichment capability deployment projects to ensure adherence to program schedules, cost containment, and performance metrics.
- Assist in the hiring and retention of essential personnel for project execution, while mitigating implementation risks.
- Perform functional assessments and independent evaluations, including readiness reviews and field inspections.
- Develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support DOE management decisions.
- Address inquiries related to facilities in Oak Ridge, TN; Bethesda, MD; and Piketon, OH.
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear energy technology development and operations.
- Strong knowledge of the AC-100M centrifuge development and licensing process.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet performance metrics and program schedules.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with DOE regulations and requirements pertinent to nuclear energy projects.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
