Summary
The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) will maintain State Industrial Solutions’ (SIS) Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance to business, customer, and regulatory requirements. By applying process improvement and quality assurance methodologies, the CQE will aim to improve customer service, quality, cycle, and delivery performance within an ISO9001-based QMS. This position will have a dual reporting structure by directly reporting to the Customer Quality Manager and dotted line reporting to the Operations Manager. The CQE will be responsible for the following key activities:
- Serve as Site ISO Management Representative
- Develop/Modify/Implement ISO compliant processes to drive process consistency and ensure compliance with Customer requirements
- Ensure policies, procedures and work instructions are issued/revised/communicated to meet business and contractual requirements
- Facilitate annual procedure training process for Site personnel
- Drive Site improvements utilizing KPIs and Site metrics
- Manage the non-conforming material, customer complaint, and corrective/preventive action processes for assigned Site(s)
- Prepare sound responses to customer-issued corrective actions
- Prepare and distribute Site metrics/reports at identified intervals during the year
- Perform and/or Host Audits (Internal/External/Customer) assessing all activities to ensure compliance with Customers, Government Agencies, and ISO 9001
- Periodically perform Quality/EHS Audits in support of Supplier surveillance initiatives
- Execute key Customer/Supplier Improvement Projects to reduce defects, cycle time, and improve fulfillment
- Review/Interpret Customer requirements and associated Supplier quality documentation
- Support direct contact with some of the largest Customers and/or Suppliers in several vertical segments
- Partner with external/internal customers, suppliers, and business leadership as needed to initiate new customer programs, meet goals, and communicate performance
Skills, Knowledge, and Education
The ideal CQE candidate should possess the ability to perform effectively in a team environment, as well as independently, with minimal daily oversight. The ideal candidate should possess the ability communicate effectively with co-workers, organize, and prioritize job tasks to aid in satisfying customer requirements. Additional skills, knowledge, and educational requirements include:
- BS Technical degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in quality or related experience in mechanical/electrical disciplines
- Minimum of three years’ experience performing ISO 9001 Quality Management System Audits
- Familiar with interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications, and manufacturing process evaluation
- Ability to identify and implement Best Practices
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and team empowerment skills
- Strong PC Skills (MS Office Suite)
- Willingness and ability to travel (>20%) as needed.
- Proven track record of the highest integrity level (reference check required)
- Fluent English & local language speaking & writing skills
