Payroll Administrator

Job Summary:
Accurately process payroll changes, new hires, terminations and all other data changes in the system in order to process payroll runs accurately. Offer training and assistance to all employees on proper payroll procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assist branches in editing and approving timecards in the timekeeping system.
- Setups, edits and removes access for managers and employees to timekeeping system. Reset passwords.
- Troubleshoot all problems involving timekeeping system.
- Verify branch payroll time entries.
- Process salary and wage changes; check for supporting documents.
- Process garnishments changes; check for all supporting documents.
- Process address changes, withholding tax changes and branch changes; check for supporting documents.
- Process new hires and terminations; check for supporting documents.
- Administration/assistance of Paid-Time-Off program.
- File as needed.
- Offer training and assistance to all managers and employees on utilizing the timekeeping system and Workday as well as all other payroll policies & procedures.
- Provide secondary checks to data changes as dictated by internal controls.
- Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as requested including headcount reports, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide timely responses to branch questions.
- Assist in the integration of the payroll processes for acquisitions.
- Assist in conforming to necessary internal controls.
- Assist in testing system upgrades and enhancements.
- Maintain record of state account numbers and SUI rates. Update rates as needed. Review and update Quarterly Tax Verification Letter.
- Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
Job Requirements
Machines, Tools and Equipment:
- Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, facsimile, copy machine, etc.).
Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:
- Associates Degree required; 4-year Degree preferred.
- Minimum of four years’ prior payroll or accounting experience required.
- Experience in Workday preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate ability to pay attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of FLSA, DOL wage and hour laws, federal and state payroll taxes and federal and state garnishment and tax levy regulations.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
- Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
- Work in indoor office environment 95% of the time.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
