R & D Outsourcing Execution Manager
Summary
Our growing, mid-sized pharmaceutical client has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Clinical Category Leader to support clinical outsourcing (Late Phase study) activities. The Category Leader will leverage agile category management and contract management best practices, along with an understanding of clinical study sourcing to manage assigned categories and address business needs with suppliers. This role collaborates closely with business partners and complies with category and sourcing strategies for R&D categories of service.
Responsibilities:
Establish relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the highest service level
Negotiate MSA agreements as assigned
Ensure timely use of Ariba tool – including entering Purchase Requisitions and Contract Workspace inputs as appropriate
Implement category strategies to support long-term business needs
Define category specific KPIs and metrics to track and monitor supplier performance
Negotiate and implement competitive commercial conditions with suppliers/CROs
Monitor contract implementation and deviations
Coordinate governance and regular business reviews with strategic suppliers
Monitor performance and follow-up on remediation plans
Facilitate timely issue escalation and resolution to ensure study timelines and deliverables
Mentor and train Sourcing Managers on category specificities and methodology
Develop and leverage RFX methodology (study level) in compliance with the sourcing strategy
Facilitate evaluation of potential vendors through effective bidding process & capabilities presentations
Facilitate the contracting process through full execution in collaboration with business partners
Monitor performance and follow-up on remediation plans
Negotiate new and amended work specifications, budgets, payment schedules, and other documents that control the activities and performance of contract service providers.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (management or science preferred)
8 years in Sourcing/Procurement or vendor management in a CRO/Pharmaceutical role
Previous experience working with CROs and other key clinical service providers
Experience working in fully outsourced clinical study management and monitoring models
Terms & Start
12-month contract, open to 12 month extension
2 Video Interviews - Start 2 weeks from an offer
Full-time, 40 hours/week
Remote Opportunity – preference is the availability to work EST hours
