Job Title Activities Coordinator Job Description Position Summary The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and leading high-quality activities at the center(s). He/she will report to the School Director and will ensure that there is a robust activity calendar and a good participation level at the center(s). Key job responsibilities include, but not limited to: Determine activities program by researching options/ prices Plan a variety of appropriate and interesting activities for weekday and weekend excursions Manage activities account, incl. money collection Pro-actively seeks out new partners and vendors within the community Offer suggestions and help students plan free-time activities Maintain stock of bus schedules, maps, travel information, etc. to provide to students Collect and report of feedback from students (surveys) Advises new and current students in regard to activities’ Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent* 2 years prior work experience with international students Ability to work evenings and weekends Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills Excellent problem solving and creative thinking skills High energy level and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to deliver on detail-oriented processes Proven customer service skills, ideally with a diverse population Tact, patience, and diplomacy, particularly with non-native English speakers Flexible and able to change plans according to circumstances Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications One or more foreign language ability Physical Requirements Sitting Standing Walking Climbing Lifting up to 50 pounds Pulling Pushing Carrying Grasping Reaching Bending Visual Acuity Color Determination Speaking Listening Location Chicago, IL, USA Employee Type Employee Job Functional Area Marketing Kaplan lnternational is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. All positions with Kaplan are paid at least $15 per hour or $31,200 per year for full-time positions. Compensation for specific positions are based on job level, skills, years of experience, and education, among other factors. Additionally, certain positions are bonus or commission eligible.
