The Software Engineer IV - Lumere
Lumere, a GHX company, is looking for a pragmatic Senior Software Engineer who is interested in taking a leading role in defining our front end development practices and processes. We are looking for someone who is passionate about architecture and coding, has an interest in DevOps, and understands how to build software that customers love to use. You will collaborate with Product, Client Services, and the Research (Content) & Data Ops team to create new features and maintain existing ones to provide value to both external and internal clients.
For this senior role, we are looking for an engineer who is willing and interested in coaching and mentoring others. Other engineers will look to you for technical advice, code reviews, and help determining the overall direction of the application. Our application stack is Vue, Django, Postgres, and Kubernetes -- we look for similar or transferable skills.
You will be expected to hit the ground running with focus on front-end development of Lumere products, which analyze hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to help health systems reduce variation in procedures and medical device utilization. As our products change and evolve, so do our teams, so you can look forward to gaining exposure to other aspects of our application as time goes on.
What you'll be doing:
* Be "point person" on a project, including writing design documents, coordinating dependencies, and acting as domain owner.
* Provide technical direction and guidance to other engineers & analysts to develop new applications that integrate with the existing platform.
* Give / get regular team feedback on your code through code reviews.
* Collaborate regularly with your product manager and fellow developers to deliver value to our users.
* Develop and deploy changes to our production systems through Gitlab CI/CD.
* Focus on code quality with meaningful test coverage and legibility.
* Contribute to our Agile culture of continuous improvement.
* Maintain and build upon our existing application infrastructure in AWS. Maintain services related to the product such as our data visualization service.
* Work with Product Managers and Design to come up with the Minimally Viable versions of new features to test with customers and iterate.
* Integrate and use monitoring and alerting tools to know about problems before our users.
* Actively mitigate risk of failed delivery and missed deadlines through courageous, transparent communication with colleagues and stakeholders throughout an agile life cycle.
* Identify technical debt and performance bottlenecks within our systems, come up with a plan to improve the code, and get it pushed to production
* Have opportunities to contribute to in-house technical presentations and workshops that share your expertise.

Estimated Salary range for this position: $120,000- $150,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
