POSITION:
Container Expeditor-1st shift
SUMMARY:
Grr! Sumter has one open 1st shift salary exempt Container Expeditor position, this position reports to the operations manager. The Expeditor will monitor the flow and compliance of drums/containers plantwide. The Expeditor will collaborate with management, production, laboratory, customer service, environmental health & safety, purchasing, and sales to facilitate operations, drums/containers movement, inventory control, record keeping, scheduling and fees associated with drum/container processing:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with different departments to make sure drums/containers are received, stored, processed, or shipped in a safe and compliant manner
· Proactive management of customer support
· Interacts with sales and customer service concerning operational issues, rejections, cost, and margins
· Interacts with operations on grading / issues associated with processing
· Update LDS on special fees (e.g., overpacks, pallets, clean ups, monolithic, cylinders, etc…)
· Maintain shipping log on all outbound drums/containers
· Maintain inventory on all special handling drums/containers (e.g., B-Codes, T-Codes, rejections)
· Proactive management of drums/container on hold for off-specs, manifest issues, and rejections
· Maintain compliance with drum/container management (e.g., labeling, aisle spacing, integrity, stability)
· Work with EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) to assist in maintaining compliance with drums/containers
· Follow up on sitewide compliance issues

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to multi-task
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Work, etc.…)
· Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required (clean shaven for proper PPE use)
· 2 years’ experience in an industrial setting or undergraduate degree
· Great attention to detail and communication skills
· Must be able to read and write.
· Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass medical examination and pre-employment drug screening.
- DOT, RCRA, and HAZCOM training is a plus, but not required for employment. Training will be provided annually to all employees.
- Must comply with all DOT, OSHA, and RCRA requirements.
